Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust (AZMET) Nawabganj, Kishanganj, Bihar, India, is committed to the cause of promoting technical education among an abysmally poor and educationally backward mass of the society. Kishanganj located at the north-eastern part of Bihar is the last district town of Bihar and has a population of over 12 lakh. The education ratio of the district is lowest in Bihar.
In view of such a horrifying spectacle of, ‘no technical centre throughout the length and breadth of the district, Al-Zafar Memorial Education Trust took up the all too daunting tasks of imparting technical education to the depressed and neglected populate of the region and as the primary step in this direction AZMET College of Engineering and Technology has been set up at Tengarmari with the help of eminent scholars and social activists of the region. AZMET Institute of Technology has been set up at Zafar Nagar, Anarkali, Kishanganj.
It comprises Engineering College, Polytechnic College, ITI College, and School. Popularly known as the AZMET Group of Institutions, this education major has set a hall mark standard in professional education sector which allows it to redefine its own standards consistently.
